Files and Local-First Storage
Lines documents are local files. The primary file format is .md.
A Lines Markdown file is human-readable and machine-readable. It stores deterministic sections for:
Pages
Canvas state
Connections
Views
Bindings
Strokes
Vector paths
Design text
Design images
Guides
Nodes
Save behavior
Use Command + S to save. Use Command + Shift + S to save a copy or choose a new location. Once a file has a saved file URL, Lines autosaves local edits after changes settle.
File ownership
Your project file belongs to you. You can move it, duplicate it, version it, or inspect it as Markdown. Agent handoff is explicit through Ship export.
Do not assume encryption or vault behavior unless a future release labels that feature as available.
