Lines is a local-first product modeling workspace built for people and agents.
Lines is a local-first product modeling workspace for teams building software with people and agents.
Product work is usually split across briefs, diagrams, design files, tickets, and conversations. Each artifact explains one part of the idea, but the relationships between them are easy to lose. When implementation begins, the people and agents doing the work are often left to reconstruct the original intent.
Lines brings that intent into one connected, inspectable model.
Model to View to Package to Ship
The Lines workflow has four stages:
Model the actors, tasks, objects, decisions, rules, states, and relationships that define the product.
View how that meaning appears in screens, flows, and visual interface objects.
Package the relevant model and visual context for a specific handoff.
Ship an inspectable artifact that people can approve and agents can use.
This approach keeps product meaning separate from visual presentation without disconnecting them. A design can change while its underlying intent remains clear. A model can support multiple interfaces without being reduced to a collection of frames.
What we believe
Product meaning should be portable
Your work should not disappear into an opaque format. Lines documents are local Markdown files that people can inspect and software can parse.
Agents need context, not just prompts
Useful implementation work depends on structure: what a feature means, how concepts relate, which rules apply, and what the interface is meant to express.
Handoffs should remain reviewable
Agent-ready should not mean automatic or invisible. Lines makes packaging an explicit step and produces artifacts a person can inspect before implementation begins.
People should stay in control
Local-first files, deliberate export, and readable formats make it clear where work lives and when it is shared.

Lines is developed by Nearform Physical AI Inc. We are exploring a more direct way to move from product thinking to implementation while preserving human judgment throughout the process.
Lines is currently in beta. Some parts of the Model, View, Package, and Ship workflow will continue to evolve as the product becomes more capable.
